सशक्त A transformative women led entrepreurship program

Our project envisions the empowerment of women in Uttar Pradesh while simultaneously safeguarding the indigenous Desi cows from the brink of extinction. This dual-purpose initiative seeks to create a mutually beneficial scenario that not only strengthens local communities but also preserves their rich cultural heritage.

Current Scenario

Statistics around Average Income of Women in Villages

The economic status of women in rural villages remains a matter of concern. Despite their active participation in agricultural activities and livestock rearing, women often have limited access to resources, education, and income-generating opportunities. This economic disparity not only hinders their personal growth but also affects the overall well-being of their families and communities. Average income of women being INR 278 per day for daily wagers and 0 for homemakers

Extinction of Desi Cow

Indigenous Desi cows have been an integral part of India's cultural, agricultural, and ecological heritage for centuries. However, in recent decades, their population has faced a severe decline, pushing them closer to extinction. The reasons for this decline are multifaceted and include factors such as the promotion of high-yield hybrid cows, urbanization, and the lack of awareness and appreciation for the Desi cow's unique qualities.

Abandoning and Slaughter of Desi Cows

One of the most distressing aspects of the Desi cow's decline is the widespread slaughter of these animals. This practice not only goes against the cultural and religious sentiments of a significant portion of the population but also results in the loss of valuable resources such as cow dung, cow urine, and cow milk, which have been traditionally used in agriculture and various household applications.

Our Approach

Our initiative सशक्त primary objective is to implement the core principles of Natural Farming (Rishi Krishi) by introducing indigenous cows and equipping women with essential skills for producing value-added products (derived from cow dung, cow urine, and Panchagavya, such as fertilizers, herbal cosmetics, and decorative items) . This initiative aims to harness the potential of indigenous cow (the most important pillar of natural famring) cow dung, cow urine, and cow milk while fostering multiple income channels. At the heart of the project lies a strong emphasis on empowering women and their families through active involvement and leadership roles.
